Echternach

Echternach is an enchanting town built around the ancient walls of an abbey founded in 698. It is located just 20 km from the village and it is the capital of the Müllerthal region. The city is the oldest in the Grand Duchy and lies along the banks of the Sûre River close to the German border. During your vacations in Echternach you can stroll through the labyrinth of medieval architectures of the old town, including the ruins of the ancient city walls or relax on the shores of the lake or participate in local festivals dedicated to music, theater and folklore that often animate the main squares along with the famous flea markets.
