Only 2 km away from hu Birkelt village, Larochette is an old village known for its castle which towers over it for about 150 meters and stands out above the Ernz valley. The castle is encompassed by a rampart, which is now largely destroyed, and a deep moat, partly of natural origin. At the very tip of the headland, the remains of numerous noble residences can be seen which bear witness to the magnificent architectural quality of this castle. The Market Square, "Place Bleech", is the nerve center of the village where you will find numerous breweries where tourists can taste the typical Diekirch beer.
